Join artist and MGC instructor Sato Yamamoto for a woodblock printing demonstration with Poster House at Japan Village in Industry City this Saturday, June 24.
Inspired by Poster House’s acclaimed exhibition Made in Japan: 20th-Century Poster Art, the museum is heading to Japan Village in Industry City for a woodblock printing demonstration featuring Brooklyn-based, Japanese artist Sato Yamamoto.
Guests will observe this age-old technique that has become the foundation for much of the modern printing industry. Participants will leave with a woodblock print designed by the artist!
Sato is a Japanese, bilingual artist inspired by culture and diversity. Born in Meguro, Tokyo and currently living in Brooklyn, New York, her unique style of art includes advanced ambidextrous and ukiyo-e printmaking skills that she uses in her artistic practice.
