Class Description
Learn the basics of monotype printing without a press! Monotype teaches us the art of transfer and reversal . A monotype is a unique print, typically painterly in effect, made by applying paint or printing ink to a flat sheet of metal, glass, or plastic which is then transferred to a piece of paper. Explore composition, color, and printing techniques. Beginners are welcome as are all levels of printmaking/painting experience! Materials are included. About the Instructor Phyllis Trout is an artist/printmaker living in Brooklyn. She has taught at New School/Parsons, Friends Seminary, Brooklyn Public Library and Brooklyn museum. Her work has been exhibited widely both internationally and nationally. She has received a McDowell fellowship and an American Turkish Society, Travel and Research Grant, and Ecole des Arts Plastiques et Visuels, Teaching Artist in Residence,Brussels, Belgium. Manhattan Graphics center has been her printmaking community for decades. Cancellation Policy
STUDENT CLASS CANCELLATION If a student must drop out of a class, 75% of tuition will be refunded as long as MGC is notified 15 days or more prior to the start date of the class. If a student notifies MGC less than 15 days prior, no tuition can be refunded. Membership and materials fee are non-refundable.
